water, politics, finland

Some of you may remember how I shared a silly video a few weeks ago and on that video someone idly left a tap open for several minutes, which is of course horrible waste of water but somehow not a big deal in Finland.

Today there was a news report about how water is so cheap that it doesn't cover infrastructure debt, resulting in poor quality water and thus the need to let the water run before use, and politicians don't dare to raise the price.

Welcome to Finland where water is ubiquitous and clean but the pipe infrastructure so outdated that the water turns to mud before reaching your home.
